Introductions: pull up a log

This thread is for anyone new around here. Say hello, tell us where you camp, and what got you started. I grew up going out to a state park about two hours from home with my dad, mostly in the shoulder seasons when the crowds thinned out. The fire was always the whole point. Food tasted better, conversations lasted longer, and nobody looked at a phone. No rules in this thread other than the obvious ones. Ask anything, even the questions you think are too basic. Somebody here has asked them before.
